In this article I will use the Night Owl Zeus 810 as my example. Almost all of the other systems provided by Night Owl are fairly similar in nature.

1) First things first, unpack everything make sure you have everything.

A) 8 CamerasNight Owl Zeus 810 Security System

B) 8 Power Adapters + 2 Plugs

C) DVR System

D) Power Cable/Remote and Batteries/Mouse

2) After you have confirmed everything is there. The easiest way

to go about setting up your camera system is first setup all your cameras

to make sure everything is working properly.

3) This system is extremely easy to setup and really the most time consuming part is running the cables for this system. After you make sure all the cameras are function. Just go ahead start running/mounting your cameras!

Best part about this system is it provides MOBILE support!

A) The first boot the system takes a minute or two to load. Be patient.

U.S. almost #1 exporter for Gas.

Posted by sobe | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 05-12-2011

So, I read an article earlier today that was talking about how the United States is one of the biggest exporters of gasoline in the world.  By this time next year the United states will be ranked #1 in the world for exporting refined products. One thing that I find interesting is the fact that gasoline demand has gone done since 2007.

Back in 2007 the U.S. was using roughly using 9.9 billions of oil each day, however currently we are using around 8.7 billions of oil each day. Clearly you see from that the US consumers have had enough with the prices. That is not the sole factor in the reason for the decline though. Another reason for the decline is the increased production of more efficient

gasoline automobiles.

So, the question I ask you today is this, If the demand for gas has gone done, and the U.S is almost the #1 exporter in the world for gasoline. Then why are we paying so much for gas? I mean even back in 2007 gas was cheaper than it is today.

Ipad2, To buy or not to Buy?

Well, The Ipad2 has been out for some time now and many of you probably are proud owners of one. I , for one, am one of those lucky ones who has an ipad2. I have to say now, I have had mine for about three weeks now and It has been great.

Ipad2

Ipad2

Pros:  Very Thin, Very Lightweight, Extremely Portable. Really does almost eliminate the need for a laptop. 10 hour battery life!

2 Cameras(1 on front and back)

Cons: Beware, Adobe Flash is not supported on the IPAD2!

If you get the smaller hard drive in your ipad2, I hear they tend to fill up really quick if you have movies or bunch of music. However, I personally got the 64 GB and never have that issue.

Overall, I love everything about my ipad2. The only thing I really hate about it is that you cant use Flash on it. I have started to get used to it. When I need to, I always figure a way around it, if I need to. There is an app you can download from the Itunes APP store which will allow you to play flash.

P.S. I personally tried the app and it kinda lags. I would suggest waiting for another way to get flash. Especially, since all newer models are coming out as ios5. So, jailbreaking will be much harder.

I wanted to write a quick post about a program that I found awhile back, and thought I would make sure everyone was aware of it. It is a very useful program called TeamViewer. This is a quick quote taken directly from the TeamViewer Site “TeamViewer connects to any PC or server around the world within a few seconds. You can remote control your partner’s PC as if you were sitting right in front of it. Find out why more than 100 million users trust TeamViewer!”

The  best part about this program is that you can get it for FREE!

I have used this program several times when my mother, who lives up in Pennsylvania, needs help on her computer. It makes the task quick and easy.

Take some time today to download it! Might be worth your while!

Later, I will post an article on how to use the program for those who need help!

How to secure your Wireless Router.

Today, I wanted to go over how easy it is to secure your wireless router. This helps protect yourself from a variety of problems. First things first, you should first identify the type of router you are using. I am using a NetGear WGR614 v9 for this demo.

1)  Make sure your wireless router is plugged in. The easiest way to configure the router is to plug the Ethernet cable into the LAN 1 port. After you have done this, goto step 2.

2) Open up your favorite browser(IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, ETC).

3) Now, I type in my IP address of the router. Netgears routers use default ip as 192.168.1.1

It will prompt for a user name and password.

Default Password: admin

4) Now, After you have logged into your wireless router. Click the Wireless Settings. Located on the left side. You will see something like the image to the right.

5) Change the SSID to whatever you would like. This is what will show up in the wireless access list.

6) Make sure to select WPA2-PSK [AES]. I find it is the one that is easiest to work with lots of other devices. Sometimes if you pick something to new, some devices wont have the supported wireless security. So, that is why I go with WPA2-PSK.

7) Select a Security Phrase, and you are finished. I usually select the phone number of the person so it is easy for them to remember. You can pick anything. Just click Apply.

So, you got a virus? Now, what?

Posted by sobe | Posted in Computer Help | Posted on 02-12-2011

Well, there comes a time that it happens to all of us. From time to time all of us accidentally end up getting a virus. No one ever knows how it got on the machine. All they do know is that it was not them.

Here are some basic steps to help you fix your problem or at least narrow down the issue. First things first, you want to make sure you have a virus program installed on the computer, and that it is running properly. That means, make sure it scans regularly and the definition file is updated. If you have AVG Installed Proceed to step 1.

1) Run a full scan. If you are having problems opening AVG try re-starting your computer in safe mode, then run AVG.

2) After you run AVG, more than likely it will come up with a list of infected files. Go ahead and clean them or if it gives the option to remove do so. Sometimes you can only move an item to the vault and have to wait until you restart before you can remove it.

3) After successfully running AVG go ahead and download a program called Malaware Malbytes. It is a program that will scan your computer for Malaware. This is a great program and best of all its FREE. You can find a link on the right side.

4) Now, after you run both of those programs, and have scanned your computer with both. Go ahead and restart your machine. After your machine finally reboots, check and see if everything is working as normal. If you are still having problems launching your browser. Goto step 5.

5) Download the program called CWShredder and Hijack this. These two programs will help identify any potential programs with your web browser. Links for both are provided on the right. After you download CWShredder and run it. Go ahead and remove anything it comes up with, otherwise just click ok and exit out.

6) Hijack this is a little more complicated to use, but is more intimidating than anything. If you are unsure of a line in Hijack this, just simply google it. You should be able to find out by the results quite quickly if it is something phishy. Also, you can always save the log file and post it on here or the hijack this forums. Both could be helpful. :) If I respond of course.

7) After all this, if still it is not working correctly, try googling your problem. This is more of a general solution that will solve a majority of the problems. Remember, google is your friend.

Gold or Silver way to go?

Posted by sobe | Posted in Stocks | Posted on 29-11-2011

The question I ask you today is this. Which is the better way to go? Gold or Silver?

So, if our current currency ends up collapsing and the value of the dollar continues to decrease, how will you be able to keep the value of your money with the way the economy is currently headed. Their are a lot of people in the country today who are predicting the downfall of our country’s currency(US Dollar).  Over the past few years we have been seeing the price of gold and silver continue to rise. It hits new all time highs all the time.

As of Today the current prices of gold are the following:

Gold per ounce:$1,714.00   +3.22

Silver per ounce: $32.16      +0.30

Precious metals seem to be one of the few ways to make sure your value does not lose its value. For, it is something we as a country always seem to want.

So, I guess the real question here is when will the US dollar fall to its doom?
